About Us
Green Tomato Concepts, LLC is an organic and local food marketing and distribution company based in Savannah, Georgia. Chef-Owner Robert Wood’s desire to use quality Organic and local ingredients for his recipes led to an extended passion for the sustainable movement in the South, focusing in the Savannah area. Green Tomato Concepts has grown successfully and impressively since its beginnings only six months ago. After working for six years as the executive chef (by age 24) at Georges’ restaurant, an award-winning restaurant on Tybee Island, GA, Robert redirected his talent and enthusiasm into Green Tomato Concepts.
Green Tomato Concepts now offers an extensive range of services, both large and small-scale. Green Tomato Concepts strives to fill a gaping need in the Savannah community for sustainable and healthy food. We have big ideas, big plans, and are all excited to continue spreading the word on slow food.
Green Tomato Concepts offers a variety of services to the Savannah community. Feel free to contact us with any questions or interest regarding our different services. As well as wholesale and large-scale operations, Green Tomato Concepts also offers a variety of services for smaller scale individual interests, between intimate catering, “Culinary Enlightenment” food and cooking classes, and our organic produce, dairy, honey, and cheese distributorship. We can’t wait to help Savannahians and the Coastal Empire have access to the healthy, natural food we all deserve.
Our exceptional chefs Robbie, Seth, and Patrick have and will team up with other chefs, owners, and organizations, to work as guest chefs or working events promoting unique collaborations with different farms, businesses, and community groups. We will continue to partner with like-minded people to expand the green movement in Savannah. We believe strongly in sustainable, conscious eating and its ability to enact social and environmental change.
Who We Are
Since Robbie’s progressive and relentless work, he has gained a crew of enthusiastic and hard working associates who each bring exciting growth and production opportunities to the “Green Tomato” table. Green Tomato Concepts is lead by Chef-Owner Robert Wood, a Savannah native with big ideas and an incredible work ethic. The Green Tomato team is powerful: Patrick Zimmerman works to distribute the freshest organic and local products to restaurants and businesses, while Deb Suwala heads up the individual ‘Fresh Box’ program. Seth Musler is the Director of Catering and Promotion, working closely with Robert to ensure our customers receive the best presentation of organic and local fare offered in the South. Marketing and Communications Director Anna Guenther, another Savannah native, brings to the table experience working with non-profits supporting local, organic, and ‘slow food’ movements.
