At Green Tomato Concepts, we are devoted to providing Savannah individuals and families with access to local and Organic foods. Our company is committed to innovative solutions for providing like-minded people with more ‘conscious eating’ choices. The growing demand in Savannah for access to sustainable and healthy foods will only result in growing access, and we hope to be there to help every step along the way! That said, the Fresh Box will be a useful staple and base for your sustainable, healthy, and community building eating choices. As we grow, we look forward to supplementing your produce subscription with other local products, such as cage-free eggs, hormone-free local dairy, Savannah Bee Honey, and more.

Green Tomato Concepts is happy to bring the Savannah community beautiful Organic and local options through the Fresh Box program, which both helps to expand the reach of Georgia farmers and improves the variety and quality of the food on our tables.  The more of these programs we have in our area, the more options we create for Savannahians, local retailers, and the region’s farmers and producers of food who together support responsible caretaking of our earth and community.

Like others in the community we feel that sustainable living is something we deserve and that should be applied to all facets of our lives. We value our direct relationship with you, our customer, and love providing you more choices to fill your table. Sustainable food production needs continued support and, as all grassroots movements, it starts in our own homes.

We aim to pack your box to your liking consistently; because we are providing you with subscription produce, your box will be subject to the availability of sustainable produce. We hope that eating locally, and therefore eating seasonally, reconnects people to their food and can even offer a challenge to consumers to enjoy the seasons’ harvest in a variety of creative ways, whether through different recipes, types of cuisine, or preserving and pickling; we encourage you to try new things! As a chef-run company, we relish in creating unique and innovative ways to enjoy the bounty that farms and producers in our region have to offer us. We want to share our experience and knowledge with you and are ready and available to help.

While you may not know in advance what will be in your box from week to week, Green Tomato Concepts would like to provide you with some tools to assist. We maintain a recipe archive on our website for our customers to reference for cooking tips and specific recipes. We can also give you sources for products that are not in your box that will be useful to complete the recipe. These tools will give you the ability to challenge yourself as much or as little as you like in your kitchen. Our experienced chefs are also available for in-home demonstrations for small or large groups to help you better understand and utilize the fresh, organic, and local products we provide.

Your Fresh Box will include an assortment of seasonal local and Certified Organic produce, including vegetables, fruits, starches, and herbs, as well as a list of what came in your box. You can also access our database of recipes on our recipes page, and you are always welcome to contact us with any questions you have about that week’s offerings. We will pack your boxes based on your flavor preferences, local availability, and our specialty Organic offerings.

Following this letter are some updates and FAQs about your Fresh Box subscription. If you have any more questions, comments, or suggestions, do not hesitate to share them with us. We welcome any way to develop our programs so that eating consciously can be a fun, easy, healthy, and delicious choice.

How It Works!

Green Tomato Concepts is happy to introduce its private distribution of local and organic produce. The Fresh Box connects Savannah area residents with local and Organic farmers to provide you with the best of the area’s seasonal produce.  By subscribing to The Fresh Box, you will not only be choosing to feed yourself and your family healthier, you will be supporting our local and Organic agricultural community! 

Each week, subscribers receive a box of the season’s freshest vegetables, fruits, and herbs.  There are two box sizes to choose from, standard or large, depending on how many people you need to feed, how often you like to cook, or just how much you love food!  You can choose the length of your subscription and the longer you commit to, and the more boxes you commit to, the less they cost.  The Fresh Box is available for pickup Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at one of our four convenient Savannah area locations.

We will be featuring two size options

Standard Box: 4   Weeks- $160
Large Box:       4   Weeks- $280

Our standard box is designed to provide 2 to 3 people with enough fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits and starches. Our large box will feed 4-5 people and features a wider variety of produce selections. It’s perfect for larger households, avid chefs, and those who love to entertain.

While you may not know in advance what will be in your box from week to week, we will be providing our subscribers with tools to make the most of this week’s fresh produce.  Each Fresh Box will include a featured recipe made for the box by our chefs. We are also available for in-home demonstrations for small groups to help you better understand and utilize the beautiful products we provide. Green Tomato Concepts would like to make it easier for individuals and families to gain access to the beautiful products they desire. So we need your input!  If there is a vegetable that you are allergic to or do not like at all, we will substitute that item with something you do like.  Fill out the following preference sheet with what to not send or what you love.  We also welcome any feedback and suggestions concerning The Fresh Box program.  Questions, comments on quality, quantity, and shelf life, or ideas and suggestions may be e-mailed to Robbie at robbie@greentomatoconcepts.com.  This will be the beginning of a long and healthy relationship between Green Tomato Concepts and the Savannah community.
