Beetroot Perpetual Spinach (Spinach Beet)
Sowing Sow direct into the growing site 2cm (½”) deep in rows 35-45cm (14-18”) apart. Planting Do not transplant seedlings. As the seedlings appear, gradually thin until plants are 20cm (8”) apart. Planting Glasshouse seedlings should be pricked off into trays 5cm (2”) apart as soon as large enough to handle. Gradually harden off for planting in growing site 25cm (9”) apart. Outdoor sowings thinned to 30cm (12”) apart. Growing Tips Stands up to hot weather well and is hardy enough to sow in August in a cold frame. Keep well watered.

Although the variety forms a loose heart and can be used as a traditional lettuce it is possible to pull leaves a few at a time.
